Are we kind?

This week, we’re asking, “Am I kind?” This includes:

  • Being kind to others
  • Being giving to others
  • Being kind and giving to ourselves

Do we make a difference? Are we missed when we’re gone? Are we happy? What makes us happy? What makes us sad? How can we be sad and happy in the same day? How can one day bring us everything while another day brings us nothing?

Each of this week’s suggestions come back to these key questions.

What are we looking at this week?

Is there something we would like to change about ourselves?

This image is the one used in the famous Blob Tree test created by behavioral psychologist Pip Wilson. The test helps people to maximize their potential and achieve balance in life by recognizing and strengthening emotions. The emotions are represented, not by words, but by the blobs’ body language and position on the tree.

There are two parts to the test. First: Find the blob figure that we think most resembles our current self. Second: Find the blob figure that we would like to resemble. Then, using the Test results, we can reflect on what our choices reveal about ourselves, our emotions, and our goals.

Reflections like this one are part of being kind and giving to ourselves.

Reach out to us on X to tell us which blob figure you identify with now, and which one you would like to be. And, visit I Am Here to deepen your self-knowledge.

What are we watching this week?

This video, from Badstache Animation Studio, highlights how our actions can impact the mental health and wellbeing of others.

The video’s title is “Mr Indifferent.” However, the main character, by unintentionally helping the old lady and realizing the value of helping others, quickly becomes “Mr Caring.” The short film illustrates how being kind and giving to others can transform both their lives and ours.

As Tribe Members with I Am Here, we focus on applying Show you care around mental health and wellbeing.

Let us know how you feel about the video. Does it speak to you? Does it resonate? Let us know on our X page.

Who are we quoting this week?

Never ask, “Who is my real friend?” Ask, “Am I a real friend to somebody?” That is the right question.

– Osho

Sometimes we do need to ask “Who is my real friend?” However, we often need to follow Osho’s advice and to ask instead “Am I a real friend to somebody?”
Are we expecting from others that which we are not prepared to give ourselves? Or do we give without expectation of payback? Do we ask ourselves, “Is there something in it for me?” Or do we ask, “Is there something I can do to help, to better, and to enhance the realities of others?”

The purpose of I Am Here is to change the world, one compassionate connection at a time. Check us out to find out more.
